Characters

Good Morning and welcome to the Cottage! It's a rainy day here in Alabama, but I don't mind the rain! (Snow would be better!)Yep, everyone thinks I'm crazy, but I can't help but love the rain & snow. I can think of several differnt scenes featuring the weather as the ultimate setting! I suppose I'm a hopeless romantic!

Today, I'm talking about characters. I love strong characters, I want my readers to be able to relate to the hero/heroine. They have to be true to themselves and look at life with great expectations!! I can't let them let life or bad situations get them down, that's just not acceptable. The old saying stands true for my characters, if life gives you lemons...make lemonade!!

Not sure if any of you watch Sons of Anarchy, but Gemma's character is awesome! She is so strong and is full of life! I'm very much in the works writing a heroine with her qualities! She is amazing! But so is Jax..her son. He has life figured out..for the most part, but others don't see things his way, but he doesn't care!! He's taking care of his life and trying to make his world a better place for his son. That's what we all want in life..to make things better.

So, I guess to close this blog today, I would like to say that when you are writing a character look beneath the beauty on the outside, look at what is inside and see the real beauty. That's not just in writing books/ novels. We need to practice this in everyday life!!

What are some qualities you like to see in hero/heroine's? Other than them being "HOT" wink/wink!!

Thanks for stopping by the Cottage!! Hope you all have a great day!!

I have to connect with the hero/heroine from the start of the book. I look at what they are going through, does it feel real to me or just pasted on the page. I want to feel the emotions, tension, and more as I read. When I feel those things, I can't stop reading. That is what I love. To read and then look up and hours have pasted by because I was so caught up in the story and the lives of my new friends. :)
